POPIA Privacy Notice

This notice is intended to explain, in a practical way, how Extra Math Class processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
1. Responsible Party
For information processed through this website and our tutoring administration, the responsible party is Extra Math Class.

- Learners and prospective learners.
- Website visitors and people who submit enquiries.
- Clients, suppliers and service providers.
3. Categories of Personal Information
Information may include names, contact details, learner grade and curriculum, educational information, marks or academic goals, booking information, communications, billing records, lead-source information and website-use data.
4. Purpose of Processing
We process information to answer enquiries, assess tutoring needs, deliver tutoring services, manage bookings and payments, communicate with clients, maintain records, protect our systems and comply with legal obligations.
5. Lawful Processing
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on consent, performance of an agreement, compliance with a legal obligation, protection of a legitimate interest, or another lawful ground recognised by POPIA.
6. Information About Children
Because our tutoring services involve school learners, some information may relate to children. We seek to process children’s information only where permitted by POPIA and where an appropriate parent, guardian or competent person has provided the information or authorisation when required.
7. Recipients
Personal information may be made available to authorised staff, tutors and service providers that need it for tutoring, administration, payment processing, communications, hosting, security, CRM or related support functions.
8. Cross-Border Processing
Where a service provider stores or processes information outside South Africa, reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the transfer is handled in a manner consistent with POPIA.
9. Data Subject Requests
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion where applicable, or to object to processing where the law allows. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
10. Complaints
If you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully, you may first contact Extra Math Class so we can investigate. You also have the right to approach the Information Regulator (South Africa).

Requests concerning personal information may be sent to info@extramathclass.co.za. Extra Math Class should ensure that its Information Officer / Deputy Information Officer details and regulatory registrations are maintained as required by law.
