Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains how lesson cancellations, rescheduling, credits and late arrivals are handled.
1. 48-Hour Notice
Where a parent, guardian or learner needs to cancel or move a lesson, at least 48 hours’ notice should be provided.
2. Credit for Timely Cancellation
A cancellation made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson may be credited or rescheduled, subject to tutor availability and the credit-validity period.
3. Late Cancellation
Where less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, the booked lesson may be forfeited. This policy is applied subject to applicable South African consumer law, including the requirement that cancellation charges for advance bookings be reasonable in the circumstances.
4. Late Arrival
If a learner is more than 15 minutes late, the session may be forfeited. If the lesson continues, it may still end at the originally scheduled time so that later bookings are not affected.
5. Credits
Credits are valid for one month after the original booking has been made. A credit not used within that period may expire unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Online Lesson Technology
Working technology on the learner’s side is the responsibility of the learner or parent/guardian. Device, internet, electricity, microphone, camera or platform problems on the learner’s side do not automatically qualify for a rescheduled lesson where the required 48-hour notice was not given.
7. Cancellation by Extra Math Class
If Extra Math Class cancels a lesson, the learner will ordinarily be offered a replacement session or credit. A paid lesson will not simply be forfeited because the cancellation originated from Extra Math Class.
8. Emergencies and Exceptional Circumstances
Genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances may be considered individually. Any accommodation remains subject to reasonable proof where appropriate, tutor availability and applicable law.
